Amazing
These guys popped up in my utube feed, I watched for a minute and was blown away. I I binged for 2 days- I thought if they come within 100 miles from me I’m there! Bought tickets in April for a November concert. Awesome show! The meet& greet was the icing on the cake.
Leonid and friends
What an amazing performance! The sound was perfectly mixed at our seats. Every performer was at the top of their game. The horns were a wonderful wall of sound, with the sax player so enthusiastically charging up the crowd. All four singers sounded great even after 40 or so shows. Ksenia blew us away with her vocal range and stage presence. Just a thoroughly entertaining night!
Stellar. Not perfect
Second time seeing the group and they were still good, but not as good. The sound system had some problems and they miss the original lead singer who is a Peter Cetera clone vocally. All that the show was still good. Accomplished musicians top to bottom and the vocals were fairly solid. Worth seeing.
Unfortunately less than stellar
Band was enthusiastic and put their hearts into it. Sound drastically lacking , could not hear guitar at all first set. Second set improved but the sound could have been mixed much better. A shame because they are all so talented !
Disappointed
Leonid and Friends on YouTube is amazing, but live at philadelphia theater, not so much. They performed for 1 and 1/2 hours, starting at 8:15. The band at times sounded good, not great with little organization on stage. The "Peter Cetera" voice (which is not the amazing YouTube voice) was strained, a bit weak, and forgetting or mispronouncing some lyrics. About 35-40% were non-Chicago songs. I don't mind a mixture, but this was too-heavily weighted. I think they have lost some fervor over the years. The seating at Live Casino in Philadelphia Theater is comprised of padded fold-up chairs. I suggest that you enjoy Leonid and Friends on YouTube. There this band is spot-on great. But avoid the live version.
Sound System - What a Shame
Ditto in Milwaukee, WI. Again, the sound was so loud/ base so heavy that so many people left, including us. What a shame! The beautiful voice of the one and only female in the band was so drowned out by the heavy / loud piano and other instruments that you couldn't hear her. They need a new sound man; do they even have one! What a shame, as they are so talented. Disappointing ticket purchase. Maybe, they're just a YouTube/Studio band.
