Outstanding

Went with my daughter (25) and my son (30). Both of whom grew up with Beatles music as well as classic rock. I knew they’d appreciate his music, but was pleasantly surprised that they not only appreciated the music but that their love for it bloomed. That said, Paul McCartney was outstanding. The show was great, the music speaks for itself the pyrotechnics was thrilling. Kudos to Abe, (drummer) excellent work. I have never written a critique of any concert before but felt the need to write one now. As always some may question his age, That’s irrelevant, what counts is the performance. Paul McCartney delivers. ... Read more

"Got Back" Great!

Paul McCartney -- backed by a monster team of musicians -- gave a three-hour performance at Orlando's Camping World Stadium that lifted the spirits of a capacity audience mired in the grief of recent mass shootings. The June 2016 loss of 49 of its own at Orlando's Pulse Nightclub is still fresh in Central Florida's memory and, as such, the senseless killings are especially soul shattering. Growing up in the 1960s, Paul was not my favorite Beatle. But his songwriting passes the test of time and, at age 80, what a showman he remains today! There was no opening act. No pause between songs, except for Sir Paul regaling the crowd with memories of his band mates and all the experiences they shared. We laughed, we cried, we gladly sang along to tunes that marked our own journeys through life... even those born long after the Beatles left the world stage. Weather reports predicted rain and lightning, but it was a perfect night, cool and otherworldly, with billowing clouds floating above the stage. At times -- especially during his poignant performance of "Let it Be" toward the end of the show -- the audience looked like fire flies with their cell phones all aglow. It was a beautiful, unforgettable moment and a much-needed reprieve from recent sorrows. It proves that if anything can heal hearts, it's music. John Lennon, during a falling out with his songwriting partner, once asked Paul, "How Do You Sleep At Night?" I would guess, just fine especially knowing how much happiness his songs, and the Beatles catalog, brings to people globally, especially these days when they need it most. Apart from all that, it would be nice if more people could afford the luxury of attending his concerts. A front-row center seat sold for as much as $8,000, nose-bleed section tickets were in the $100 range and the cheapest T-shirt was a Rodeo Drive-priced $45. Come on Paul! Surely you remember life before you were a billionaire? How much is enough? I will end by saying the experience he offered the crowd at Camping World Stadium was priceless. After three years of pandemic, wars, political chaos and an onslaught of apocalyptic events, the joy he gave was (almost) equal to the money he mad ... Read more

I saw the Beatles in 1966, ticket price was $5.50. I saw McCartney in Columbia SC in 2015 and in Greenville SC in 2019...tickets...priceless. If you have an opportunity to see this musical genius perform, you should definitely go. He puts on a great show. 38 songs, nearly 3 hours. No other rock band does that. Paul's voice shows he's nearing 77 years of age, but HIS ability to play multiple instruments without missing a note is amazing. His back up band is tight and Paul interacts well with the audience. I only hope Paul and I last long enough for me to see him perform one more time. ... Read more
