Termed the 'Marvin Gaye of the 90s' by the press, Maxwell expertly interweaves modern beats and production with an old-school soulful emotion.

Greatest Concert Ever

Ended abruptly

Our first time at the Amway Center. It was raining outside in typical Orlando summer form. We got there in time to see Xscape. They did great and got the crowd involved. The Maxwell performance was good. There were some minor gaffes in lighting and sound. It happens, not every night is perfection. I expected more songs from Maxwell. The crowd must have sensed the end was near as people were heading for the exits before he began the final song. The ending was abrupt and seemed unplanned with little buildup or climax and him running off the stage. The applause was sparse. I was expecting the musicians to be introduced as he has done before, but not this time. They turned the stage lights down and turned the house lights up. It was the end of the show, and still raining outside. The Geico garage staff did excellent, guiding traffic and making quick work of emptying the structure. We'll be back! ... Read more
